Fukuoka: Asia’s Gateway & Fashion Town. Rediscover the charm of Japanese leather in this city resort where nature feels close at hand!
Fukuoka, one of Japan's leading cities, is an international and vibrant fashion hub attracting numerous tourists from across Asia due to its proximity to various Asian countries. Amidst the intersection of diverse cultures and sensibilities, Japan leather shops are honing their individuality by refining the retro nuances demanded by the times.
From Hakata Station, head toward Sannō Park; it's about a 20-minute walk to “japlish”.

Founded in 2009, “Japlsih” opened its atelier and shop in 2011. In 2023, the atelier relocated next to Sannō Park, with a directly managed shop added on-site. It offers a wide selection of original products.

A small team of artisans handles every step of production, including sewing. We aim to “sell products made from safe materials at fair prices” and “create items that bring comfort and warmth when used.”

We use natural leather from cowhide, horsehide, and boarhide in our products. We strive to create items that embrace the natural character of the leather itself—its inherent marks and wrinkles—rather than hiding them, celebrating the individuality and authentic texture of each piece.

We host workshops so you can easily experience making things. Enjoyable even for leather craft beginners, you can engrave names or special dates. Perfect for creating one-of-a-kind gifts.
