If you want to take a break, stop by the Japanese sweets shop "Amaneya Himeji Station North Exit". They carry a wide range of products, from fruit daifuku (sticky rice cake filled with red bean paste) to karinto (sweet, deep fried snack) in a basket which is great as a souvenir.

"Emidama" is a colorful sphere shaped monaka (bean-jam filled wafers). The bean paste, which incorporates not only Japanese ingredients but also fragrant fruits, changes the image of the monaka.
